Financial Careers Training

We work closely with local financial-sector partners to place program graduates in positions that pay living wages and offer opportunities for professional development and career advancement. The Financial Careers Training Program is unique amongst job training programs, as the curriculum was designed by bankers and is tailored to the specific hiring needs of financial sector partners. The program prepares qualified entry-level candidates for Bank Teller, Customer Service Representative and Personal Banker positions.

Association House of Chicago is offering free, online, job readiness training for individuals who are seeking employment during the stay-at-home order. Classes are taught by experienced instructors via a live video-conferencing tool. The training course includes key topics such as professional presence, resume writing, interview practice, as well as soft skills needed to land and keep a job. Training Details: 

  • Live video training is provided 3 days a week, for 4 weeks. Classes are 2 hours each.
  • Participants will complete weekly assignments and receive 1-on-1 coaching from instructors.
  • Participants will need access to a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone with internet connectivity and webcam.
  • Technology-related skills, like webcam interviews and online applications, will be emphasized to assist participants in their employment search.

  • Minimum Age 18
  • Valid Illinois ID / SSN
  • High School Diploma or GED

Technology Center

Association House is committed to eliminating the digital divide and employment gap in our community by offering Basic Computer Education courses, Microsoft Office Training, and Open Lab times.

Microsoft Office Training offers students practical training in Microsoft Word and Excel programs, which enhances their skills for positions in office administration and other computer-based jobs.

Classes cover creating and saving items in MS Office and Google Drive, and fundamentals of Word Processing – Inserting Tables, Pictures and Other Objects. Excel classes cover spreadsheets – Logical Functions, Lookup Functions, and Spreadsheets Concepts Review.

Current tech training courses are only being offered online and Open Lab is not available at this time.

Income Support Services

We provide comprehensive basic needs services for low-income families. By providing access to emergency food, application assistance for public benefits, or procuring external and internal program referrals, our program makes it possible for people to stabilize their families and stay in services when crises arise.
