After graduating college, Tadd made his way and became a partner at Ernst and Young at the Chicago office in Assurance Practice. It’s possible for anyone, no matter your estate size to leave a gift. There are also tangible benefits, such as reducing your estate tax or income tax for your heirs. The three easiest ways to make a legacy gift are through your: Will Life Insurance Retirement Plan Leaving a Legacy with Your Will A gift left in a will or estate plan is often called a bequest. With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift for Association House of Chicago. This could be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the balance or residue of your estate. You retain control of your assets during your lifetime and can change your mind or modify your gift if circumstances change. For recommended language, download our bequest language guide . Bequest gifts are fully deductible for federal estate tax purposes, and there is no limit on the deduction your estate can claim. Sample Language Leaving a Legacy with Your Life Insurance You can name Association House as a primary or contingent beneficiary of your life insurance policy. Becky’s a Public Finance Attorney with Foley and Lardner LLP, where she negotiates and closes transactions across the country. < Back Becky Brueckel Before retiring, Becky was a Public Finance Attorney with Foley and Lardner LLP. In her role, she negotiated and closed tax-exempt, taxable financings and post-issuance transactions across the country for health care systems, universities, museums, and other non-profit organizations. She also acted as a bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, disclosure counsel, and borrower’s counsel in over 1,000 new issues and post-issuance transactions. Becky obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from Yale University. She then attended Boston University School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor of Law. Why I Serve? Becky met Harriet in the late 2000s when she worked on financing for Association House and decided that, when she moved back to the City, she would love to join the House’s board. In 2017, she decided it was time to become an official board member, all because of Harriet’s dedication to the House’s missions was so inspiring.

Here, she is charged with strategic initiatives, government affairs, communications, advocacy, marketing, scholar recruitment, and development. Helena spearheads transformation across Acero Schools and is a fierce advocate for educational access and opportunity. For more than 22 years, she has served as an education policy advocate in senior roles for legislators and in-state agency, corporate and non-profit settings. She is an alum of the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in Government and Sociology and minored in Mexican-American Studies. Why I Serve? Helena has called Chicago’s Ukrainian Village and Humboldt Park communities’ home for more than 15 years. She believes in the transformative impact of education and is passionate about giving voice and space to the individuals we serve in big, small, and absolutely life-changing ways. Levels of Support Recovery and independence are different for every individual. Rooted in the belief that mental health should not stand in the way of reaching your goals, our case managers will work with you to create meaningful, achievable goals and help you reach them. At every level of support, common services include traditional case management, connections to resources, systems navigation, medication management, and therapy. Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) ACT is an evidence-based model for high-intensity, wrap-around case management. Community Support Team Community Support Team provides high-intensity, case management. Community Connections Community Connections focuses on building supports and independence. "The services I receive are excellent and help me reach a sense of independence. They have impacted me in several ways, mainly with my mental stability and a sense of how incredible life can be. She is formally trained in CBT and specializes in abnormal psychology. She has worked primarily with adults who have chronic mental illnesses and those in the penal system. Nydia practices therapy because she’s intrigued by people’s different mental processes and likes connecting with her patients, so they know that someone understands them. She wants to work towards removing the stigma around mental health and normalizing it. In her free time, she likes traveling, meditating, and being outdoors in nature as much as possible.
