Billing Manager – Behavioral Health

About the Role

Responsible for revenue cycle management of the Behavioral Health Division and supervision of the billing and reception team. Implements training, monitoring, and evaluation activities that ensure compliance with agency protocols, Medicaid and other payers, and accreditation entities. Ensures accurate and timely entry of community-based mental health, substance treatment, I/DD, and physician billing. Analyzes trends and implements procedures that bring claims and any denials to efficient resolution. Works in partnership with programs to provide training, make claim corrections, submit registration and discharge information, and maintain up-to-date insurance eligibility, authorizations, and self-payments. Communicates with agency, DHS, HFS, MCO, and relevant external entities to identify and resolve issues related to the revenue cycle. Maintains accurate records to support each stage of the billing cycle and generates reports to substantiate these steps. Works in close collaboration with the Accounting department to ensure continuous reconciliation of payments. The annual salary range for this position is $53,000 to $57,000.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred) or AA in related field + advanced certificate of training. 

  • Minimum of 2 years in a related supervisory role. 

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative, finance, or billing-related role, preferably in a social service setting. 

  • Experience using electronic records, multiple softwares, and/ or billing software preferred. 

  • Must be able to master all computer software applications to both utilize and train others on effective implementation
