About the Role

Ensures overall coordination and management of cases through assessment, service planning, linkage with services, and establishment of collaborative relationships. The case manager provides a majority of services in the community and in families’ homes. The case manager is the primary liaison between the participants (child, parents, foster parents) and the various systems they interact to ensure that timely permanencies are achieved. Monitors homes for compliance with DCFS policies and standards, and follows up with licensing complaints. They also assist in the stabilization of placements. In addition they assist the case managers in expediting the adoption or guardianship process by providing support in developing subsidies and needed reports once parental rights have been terminated.


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 1 year child welfare experience preferred.

  • Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.

  • Child Welfare Service Employee License.

  • Must have daily use of a car, current insurance, valid driver’s license, and a driving record acceptable to Agency insurance carrier and DCFS.
