About the Role
As Marketing Clerk, you will work with the Marketing team to develop internal and external marketing materials, campaigns, and events that elevate Association House’s profile and engage potential participants, partners, and donors. As Clerk, you serve as the team lead for administrative functions.
Requirements
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Marketing, Communications & Outreach - 30%
1. Assist in regular bilingual English/Spanish content creation for internal and external marketing materials, campaigns, and events.
2. Work with Development team and Marketing team on annual development marketing projects, including Annual Report and the Back 2 School, Giving Tuesday, and Year-end appeals.
3. Assist in community outreach efforts in Humboldt Park and surrounding neighborhoods through canvassing, attending fairs and other activities that promote awareness of Association House, as needed.
4. Special projects, as assigned.
Administration – 50%
1. Attend weekly department meetings and periodic program meetings.
2. Monitor shared department email and forward inquiries to appropriate parties.
3. Monitor and update audiences for monthly newsletters and dedicated e-blasts.
4. Maintain department expense tracker.
5. Allocate all credit card expenses in Financial Edge semi-monthly.
6. Generate payment requests in Financial Edge weekly.
7. Other related duties, as assigned.
Event Planning & Execution – 15%
1. Assist Marketing Manager in event design, planning, and execution of annual Faces of Hope gala.
2. Monitor event-planning timelines and coordinate task completion across team.
3. Work with vendors to get bids for needed services and/or items.
4. Represent the agency at occasional events, including donor and community outreach events.
Professional Development – 5%
1. Accept feedback and implement it into practice on a consistent basis.
2. Attend a minimum of 2 hours of training annually related to the position.
3. Shares information obtained at trainings and seminars with other staff members.
COMPETENCIES
1. Able to use a computer and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn role-specific tools, including Canva, Wix, MailChimp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
2. Able to check own work for errors to produce neat, accurate documents in a timely manner.
3. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
4. Able to ask for assistance in difficult circumstances or with work projects that are unclear.
5. Able to follow instructions and prioritize work projects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Design or marketing experience (school projects are acceptable)
- 1 year office setting experience
- Bilingual Spanish/English
