Bilingual Family and Resource Engagement Specialist

About the Role

Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Child Welfare Services, the Family and Resource Engagement Specialist is responsible for working with the Licensing/Foster Care Teams to strengthen our teams and enhance our resources. This role is a non-case carrying member of the team aimed at building relationships, supports, partnerships and strengths amongst youth, their identified caregivers and families for the expansion of familial/natural, informal and formal life-long supports, connections and resources.


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or a related field.  

  • Demonstrated experience in the Child Welfare Field preferred.

  •  Minimum of 1-year direct service experience in the child welfare field.  

  • Bilingual Spanish/English required.  

  • Prior experience in a multi-ethnic setting preferred.  

  • Must have daily use of a car, current vehicle insurance, valid driver’s license, and a driving record acceptable to Agency insurance carrier and DCFS.  

  • Always carries cellular phone to respond to participant/program needs
