February is American Heart Awareness Month. Cardiovascular disease is an underlying health condition that doesn’t always present itself until a stroke or heart attack is evident. Understanding your risk factors—especially during a time of pandemic—is an essential step in taking care of your health for years to come. The following are tips for improving your heart health and preventing heart disease:
- Manage Stress
- Limit alcohol
- Control your blood pressure
- Eat a healthy diet: eliminate saturated fats from your diet
- Get regular exercise
- Get a good quality sleep
