Facts and Figures about Association House
Each year in neighborhoods throughout Chicago, Association House:
- Distributes enough emergency food to feed more than 5,000 individuals
- Enrolls more than 120 at-risk youth in the Out of School Time Program to succeed in a safe place
- Places more than 100 children in community foster homes
- Supports more than 17,000 visits to the Technology Learning Center
- Provides more than 270,000 hours of counseling and clinical services
- Enables 135 at-risk youth in a unique educational setting to earn a high school diploma
- Provides access to free immunizations, dental checkups, and health and nutrition resources to more than 300 children and their families through the Annual Fitness for Kids Health Fair.
- Conducts more than 100 health-related workshops for families covering cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, breast cancer, HIV/AIDS and other STDs, cardiovascular disease, and child and adult obesity.
- Provides nearly 50 nutritional cooking classes focused on healthy eating and preventing disease with more than 75% of workshop attendees increasing their knowledge about health choices.
- Over 800 community members participate in health fairs and health screenings each year.
Every year, Association House programs deliver meaningful results for hundreds of children, adults and families:
- 100% of Out of School Time students increase their math skills and 75% increase their reading skills.
- More than 400 individuals are placed in transitional jobs and permanent employment through our Community Services Career Center.
- More than 90% of alternative high school graduates enroll in college, vocational training, military training, or gain full-time employment.
- More than 700 families annually improve their quality of life and develop their talents with Behavioral Health Services.
