Bilingual Parent Educator – Healthy Lifestyles
Responsible for providing resources and support through educational and family development services. Assists parents in strengthening their effectiveness. Organizes and delivers evidenced based and culturally appropriate parent education services including classes, counseling, coaching and consultation. Assesses parenting and family needs and makes appropriate referrals. Participates in program evaluation, development and performance improvement activities. Builds relationships with other agency programs and community organizations through referrals and networking to ensure program visibility, cross-collaboration and timely referrals. Documents services and develops family and program reports following program standards. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. Master’s degree in early childhood education, parenting education or public health preferred. Experience working with a diverse population in a social service setting required. Training experience preferred. Bilingual Spanish/English required. Basic computer skills. Valid Illinois Driver’s License, insured car and good driving record. Flexible work schedule including weekends and evenings.
